I've been told off....

Lyzzy told me off and made me feel like I have to pull my socks up so I did. And then I realised that I hadn't got any on.... Skin's a bit sore now ;)

I apologise (I actually didn't think anyone looked on here to be honest), it's mainly due to being full time at work now and being so busy or fit to drop the rest of the time. Still making a large amount of cards tho so here's a selection of what I've been up to....

Scrap Your Man

On It's a Creative World they have recently challenged female scrapbookers and papercrafters to scrap our men. So I did :) And it was fun.

It's all about raising awareness for men's cancer through the Orchid Cancer Appeal. Fab idea, make a donation and get him on a 12x12.
Here's mine: The title is an understanding between me and he and the journalling reads: Best Friend. Mentor. Daddy. Lover. Leader. Hippy. Husband. Gentleman. Rebel. Bohemian. Bon Viveur. Renaissance Man.
He's all of those and more, and the best bit is that he's mine...

Long Weekend

I have been looking forward to this weekend and hoping that the sun would shine and it certainly did yesterday so we got loads of work done in the garden. Raymond spent most of it cleaning and tidying and I spent the time weeding and potting out seedlings. It's all looking decidedly better.

Not sure what today will hold but I'm sure it will be another good one.
I really wanted to go and see The Boat that Rocked last night and, just when we'd been able to get a sitter for Rosie, they pulled the film from the local cinemas. So I shall patiently wait for it to come on the pay per view channels. Not the same as sitting in the cinema with your man tho is it?
I've been playing on a cyber crop in the last week and made this from one of the card classes from the lovely Andrea Gourley...
Butterfly
I also made this from a challenge blog (I think it was Tamara's) a few weeeks ago but didn't finish it in time to upload it...
Hugs
Whatever you're doing this weekend, hope you have a lovely one xx

I don't do LO's often, this was a lovely class to do tho.

The sun seems to want to shine this weekend so I think I'll be burning off some calories outside (goodness knows it needs a clearup).
Have a good one whatever you do xx

Who? Me? Nooooooooooooooooo Surely Not?

Sorry. I know I've been away for an age. I know that any excuse for not posting will be poor as I have been twittering and Facebooking happily. So all I can say is that much has passed since I last posted:

I got a new job. Still at the Onion but working for the guy who acts as my mentor and coach so that has to be good
I did 40 days and nights without chocolate and a 12 mile sponsored walk all for Ella Grace who has recently come back from another major op over the pond. This one was a great success and the hope is that she won't have to go back for another year.
I've started running (altho 5 days after starting I got a crappy cold so I need to starta again really)
I have decided to go back to work full time to try to a. beat the system in times of financial shite and in a hope that it fuels my ability to progress my career.
I have started twittering.... I know, cyber-nut.
I haven't stopped making cards and scrapbook LO's and I still do this for the lovely Jackie and Di, 2 inspirational women :)
So here's some of the things I've been making....

40 Days without Chocolate....

Why would I say something so silly?

Because as from tomorrow I'm giving it up..... for 40 days and nights (let's not be silly now)
I'm doing it as I usually give something up for lent (last year it was the use of my dishwasher) this year it's something much closer to my heart.... chocolate

I'm doing it also, in the hope of raising funds for my little friend Ella-Grace Honeyman who is facing yet another round of major surgery in April. Ella-Grace has a rare brain condition called Vein of Galen Malformation.
If you would like to read more about Ella-Grace and VGAM, please look here:

And if you would like to cheer me on/jeer at me in my quest to ignore one of my staple foodstuffs, please consider donating to the Ella-Grace fund. You can donate directly via Paypal by this link:

Thank you for your support and for reading.
Much love,
Annette xx

Making cards for fun

Sometimes it's just nice to make things for the hell of it.

Here's some cards I've made for a couple of challenges this week and I have thoroughly enjoyed making them. The top one is for the Cardvaarks spotty challenge (and it's also for my stepson's birthday next week) and the second is done for a challenge with some dear card-making friends and is also for my neighbour who moved away yesterday....

Yes I know they only went a spitting distance away but we shall miss them loads. I made the first with a lovely Crafter's Companion number stamp and the second with an image from the fab Kate Hadfield :)

Birthday Girl

Hmmm I only seem to be posting on my blog when it's someone's birthday which seems awful really but I think that winter seems to have gotten the better of me. I'm sure that as soon as temps get up to double figures and the clocks go forward, I shall start to wake up again... Zzzzzzzzzzz

Today is my sister Soo's birthday. She is my eldest sister and she is very good at giving me hugs when I need them. She inspires me to scrap by being my favourite scrapper. She makes better cards than me too Hmmmmmm and she lets me raid her scrap-stash on a regular basis and let's me use her Slice.
I just realised how much gobbledigook that must sound to a non-paper-crafter. Sorry...
My sisters are an amazing inspiration to me and my best pals.
Happy Birthday Soo. You don't look a day over 27 xx

And what have I been doing lately? Making cards for Di cos I love to...
